2012 Toyota Annual Sales Posting

Despite the great adversity faced by the Toyota Motor Corporation during the 2011 year, they finished strong and have an excellent momentum going into the 2012 year, with high hopes of exceeding their expectations. Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. reported sales for December 2011 of 178, 131 units. This was comparable to the same month the previous year. The Toyota Division reported December sales of 152, 776 units which marked a slight increase of 1.9 percent over the previous year. For the entire year of 2011 Toyota Motor Sales reported sales of 1, 644, 661 vehicles. This marked a decrease of 7.0 percent of the previous year. As for the Toyota Division, they reported sales of 1, 446, 109 for the entire 2011 year. This was a decrease of 6.1 percent over the previous year. The Toyota Camry St Louis and the Toyota Camry Hybrid led the passenger car sales for the year, posting a combined sales of 308, 510 units. The Toyota Corolla car posted annual sales of 240, 259 units. The Prius family collectively posted annual sales of 136, 463 units.
