Time to Start Thinking About Snow!

Image
Toyota Camry Owners, "Start thinking about snow"! We want to make sure our Toyota Camry owners and blog readers are informed and safe, as the crisp fall air will soon turn to winter.  There are many ways to winterize your new or used Toyota Camry St. Louis and we want to be the first to provide you with some quick and easy helpful tips to keep you safe through the coming winter months.  Not only will this help to keep you safe, it can also help prolong the life and health of your car. First, you will want to make sure you get a good oil change.  Making sure the oil you use has the right viscosity, or thickness, is key as winter approaches.  Oil thickens, as it gets cold, and if the consistency is not right it will not lubricate your engine the way it needs to in order to protect your car.  Next, you will want to make sure your windshield wipers are fresh and in good working order.  If you have not had your windshield wipers changed, now would be the right time.  This

Buyers Want Certified Toyota Cars

Image
Certified Toyota Cars As new studies are released that show car buyers are buying less new cars and are staying in the vehicles longer, it may leave some wondering if the value of Certified Toyota St. Louis cars will change.  Most of the change in consumer buying behavior can be attributed to the recession fears, and the fact that many people are no longer willing, or able to take on a new car payment.   While new cars are still being bought, consumers are financing them for longer periods of time in order to lower the monthly payments.  In previous years, consumers would finance a car for a short period of time: two to three years at the most. However, post recession, consumers are financing six, seven, even eight years at a time.  Buyers expect their cars to last longer, and thanks to industry standard upgrades, they are getting what the ask for. The old practice of “conquest buying” where one brand persuades a loyal consumer to switch brands, may have come to an abrupt end. With co

Get the Certified Guarantee

Image
Certified Guarantee Let’s face it…times are still uncertain in the world of finances.  Americans are getting back on track, but no one is in the clear yet and jobs are still not as stable as they need to be for peace of mind.  If you have come on top enough to be considering a new car purchase, you are probably feeling a sense of relief combined with a little bit of anxiety at the same time.  One thing is for sure, buyers are altering their habits when it comes to purchasing a new or used car.  The things they value are changing and the amounts they are spending are certainly being analyzed.  Customers in today’s market want a guarantee…and Toyota is prepared to give them what they want. If the above sounds a lot like you, then you are probably considering a used car over a new one to save yourself some money.  You may find a bit of apprehension to this notion though in the uncertainty that can come with a used car purchase.  For this very reason, many of our loyal shoppers are choosin

Insurance Premiums for Teen Drivers

Image
Teen Drivers Every teenager looks forward to the day that they turn sixteen and can legally drive.  Every parent can learn to be excited for them, but there is one glaring issue that parents hate to confront…insurance premiums.  Premiums can be very high and if you don’t have a teenager who makes the best grades then you may not be eligible for discounts to help offset the high cost.  If you have a boy, your rates skyrocket as male teenage drivers’ hold higher risks of accidents. It appears in the future this may be true for both male and female drivers.  Why? …Distracted driving will be the reason.  Accident rates are soaring as a result of electronic distractions on the road.  It is true that both males and females are guilty of this behavior, but specifically texting and driving is far more prevalent among teenage girls.  As accident rates continue to rise as a result of texting and driving, so will insurance premiums for those who are found doing it more often. What can you do as a

Is a Hybrid or Electric Toyota Car Right for You

Image
As the economy shifts and we start hearing phrases like “fiscal cliffs” and even worse…falling off the edge of it, people get more and more concerned about the cost of living and how it is going to impact their overall standard of living.  The thought of rising fuel prices has many people considering new methods of automobile manufacturing.  Specifically, hybrid and electric technology are becoming a much more appealing option that buyers are willing to explore.  Analysts are suggesting that gas prices could reach $4.25 a gallon nationally by late April, according to recent reports from Edmunds.com.  Some cities, such as Los Angeles and Chicago may even see $5 a gallon. Traditionally, hybrids and electric alternatives haven’t hit home with consumers in the market to save money.  The main reason being that electric cars specifically pose a new sort of challenge to owners when confronted with keeping it fully charged, and in the end, the higher sticker price of these cars tended to offse

Your Fuel Efficient Camry As you set out on your holiday travels, you will probably be looking for ways to save money on fuel.  There are many different theories out there on how you can save money and become more fuel efficient.  It is sometimes difficult to decipher what really does have the potential to save you and what is probably a waste of your time in the long run.  After researching some of the experts in the field, we have come to a few conclusions on the driving habits that really have the potential to save you big and others that may not save as much but are still worth the effort.  After extensive studies conducted by Edmunds.com, this is what they found: Your best money saving behind the wheel comes from driving moderately.  Sounds simple right?  Well, you might be surprised of how much of an “aggressive” driver you actually are.  If you simply avoid taking off from stop signs too harshly and from stomping on the brakes you can see an average savings of 31 percent.

Fact or Fiction for Fuel Savings

Image
Since the beginning of the invention of cars people have found interesting and creative ways to save money on both the maintenance costs as well as the fuel costs for their vehicle.  There are many crazy ideas out there about how to save money.  I once had a neighbor who literally had a dent in the front of his vehicle because he didn’t want to use his brakes when he pulled into his garage and would often lightly hit the wall to make him stop.  Drastic? …Yes…Did it save him money on the maintenance costs? …Highly unlikely…That being said, we are going to look at some fuel saving myths that you have probably heard a time or two and maybe have even secretly tried yourself in an effort to save money.  With the help of money.msn.com, we are debunking some of the common fuel saving myths out there today. 1. “Buy gas early in the morning.”  There is this idea that when you buy gas when it is cold that it will expand as it warms and actually give you more than you paid for.  However, the g

Travel Safe with the Toyota Camry

Image
Travel Safe with the Toyota Camry With the added traffic on the roadways these coming holidays, there is a need to take extra precautions when planning your trips between now and the first of the year.  State departments of transportation offices as well as many top news reporters in the automotive industry are going to great lengths to bring awareness to the roadways this year.  In a recent trip that I took through the state of Missouri, there were several illuminated road signs along the interstate with sobering facts and statistics regarding safety on the roads.  These signs are intended to get your attention and to remind you of the reality of safety concerns so you can take precautions.  One such sign revealed, “756 road deaths in MO this year, 64% unbuckled.”  The message here: use your seat belt…all the time…every time!  Another sign read, “Roadway deaths 3% higher in MO in 2012.”  Again, the message here is to slow down, drive cautiously, avoid distractions, and make healthy

Your Windshield, Your Safety

Image
The windshield of your new, used, or certified Toyota St. Louis car is an integral part of your safety, whether you’re driving or riding in the car. It works to keep the environmental elements out as well as keeping in the comfortable temperature controlled air. It will require maintenance over time and may even need a repair every now and again. In fact, if your windshield gets chipped by a rock or other material it is important to have it fixed as soon as possible. There are at home windshield repair kits. However, the most effective way is to have it serviced at the Toyota dealership in which you bought the car. Putting off repairing a chipped windshield may cause the small chip to begin to spread with each bump in the road. Overtime these small chips can turn into a crack reaching from one end of the windshield to another. At this point you would need to have then entire windshield replaced. This is far more costly to do than to simply fix the chip when it happens. When you replac

Image
Toyota goes above and beyond to make sure that we engineer and manufacture cars to be the most comfortable and feature-friendly cars and trucks on the roads.  Despite all of the comfort measures one can possible install in a car, thousands of people all over the country still deal with car sickness.  What exactly is car sickness?  Well, according to dmv.org, “car sickness is defined as a condition in which the fluid contained in the semicircular canals of the inner ears becomes disturbed, and the eyes and inner ears dispatch conflicting motion-sensor feedback to the brain.”  Confused yet?  I know I am!  Basically, what is happening is your inner ear senses movement when you are in a car but “your eyes trick your brain by focusing on a stationary object within the car, like a book or a radio knob and when this occurs, the brain gets heaved out of whack and defensively reacts by stimulating the body’s histamine reactors – which in turn instigate nausea and vomiting.”  Okay…so that may no

Toyota Production Continues To Increase

Image
There is no denying the recent earthquake and tsunami was devastating in more ways than one. Auto manufacturers, including the Toyota Motor Corporation, have had to strategize and reorganize in order to get business back up and running as close to normal as possible. At the same time the local business and family life remains in a state of fighting for recovery as well. It is difficult to imagine just how long it will take Japan to recover. Within the auto industry alone, they are expecting effects to be prevalent until the onset of the winter months in the United States. However, as time passes they are showing continuous recovery at a faster rate. It was recently announced that the Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. will be able to increase production sooner than expected. In fact, as early as June, overall North American production is expected to reach 70 percent of their normal production levels. During the month of May their production was at 30 p
