Toyota Production Continues To Increase

There is no denying the recent earthquake and tsunami was devastating in more ways than one. Auto manufacturers, including the Toyota Motor Corporation, have had to strategize and reorganize in order to get business back up and running as close to normal as possible. At the same time the local business and family life remains in a state of fighting for recovery as well. It is difficult to imagine just how long it will take Japan to recover. Within the auto industry alone, they are expecting effects to be prevalent until the onset of the winter months in the United States. However, as time passes they are showing continuous recovery at a faster rate.

It was recently announced that the Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. will be able to increase production sooner than expected. In fact, as early as June, overall North American production is expected to reach 70 percent of their normal production levels. During the month of May their production was at 30 percent. The jump in production is thought to be a result of the actions of the affected suppliers. This jump in production gives Toyota renewed hope that production will reach 100 percent capacity by the year’s end. The first models to reach 100 percent production include the Toyota Avalon, the Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Yaris, Sequoia, Sienna, and the Toyota Venza. You can purchase a new St. Louis MO Toyota Camry at the Weiss Toyota dealership.

“Our team members and suppliers are working closely on countermeasure activities to improve the parts condition from Japan. We continue to develop solutions in order to restore 100 percent production as soon as possible for all of our North American-made vehicles,” said Steve St. Angelo, executive vice president of TEMA. “We appreciate the patience of our customers and dealers.”
