Social Media Strategy with Toyota Cars

Toyota Social StrategyRecently autonews.com interviewed Jack Hollis, the Marketing Vice President of the Toyota Division.  Hollis touched on some important factors of selling Toyota cars in this upcoming year.  One thing is for sure, marketing across all businesses will not be able to overlook the power of social media this year.  It has quickly become a rising star in the world of business and sales and people of all ages are turning to it when shopping for products.

Hollis spoke about the big social media outlets and how Toyota will use them to promote their brand.  Specifically, he mentioned Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter.  Hollis believes that the “return investment is based upon how you used these all together in a strategic form, not one-by-one on a tactical form.”  In other words, Toyota does not see one of these outlets as more important than another.  They are all very important and should be used together to maximize the benefits our current market has with the availability of social marketing and media.  Hollis also said that they want to “be in the digital space of new emerging Websites.”  His goal in uncovering these upcoming sites is to build a relationship with their first followers early on.  When customers see that you care about all the outlets, not just the social giants, they are more likely to trust and respect your brand.  Lastly, Hollis believes that when all of the above social media is “used together to build relationships and have good communication with the consumer then the return on investment is very high.”
