Toyota Celebrates Earth Day 2013

Toyota enjoyed Earth Day festivities around the nation this year, including New York City.  As the official automotive sponsor of Earth Day New York 2013, Toyota showcased all of their hybird-electric cars in a Green Vehicle Runway Show at Union Square.  Toyota also offered free valet parking to the first 190 individuals driving a Toyota or Lexus hybrid vehicle to specific locations for the event.  According to Steve Haag, assistant general manager of Toyota’s New York Region, “We at Toyota are inspired everyday by our customers around the world and here in New York who have made a real commitment to environmental conservation.  We are grateful to them for helping us evolve the first Prius into a modern family of vehicles, and for embracing a wide range of additional Toyota and Lexus hybrid models.”

It is estimated that due to the sale of hybrid vehicles around the world, 34 million fewer tons of CO2 emissions have been emitted into the atmosphere.  Toyota has sold over five million of the hybrid vehicles currently on the road – that is an industry-leading number.

Recently autonews.com interviewed Jack Hollis, the Marketing Vice President of the Toyota Division.  Hollis touched on some important factors of selling Toyota cars in this upcoming year.  One thing is for sure, marketing across all businesses will not be able to overlook the power of social media this year.  It has quickly become a rising star in the world of business and sales and people of all ages are turning to it when shopping for products.
